DIY Makeup Organizer...

Happy hump-day everyone :) Hope you are getting through the week smoothly and without trouble! Speaking of trouble, I had a hard time this morning finding one of my favorite makeup brushes. I guess I took it somewhere around the house with me and didn't put it back where it belongs! Do you even have proper storage for your makeup or is everything piled together in a drawer? Well here is a cute and thrifty way to create some storage:

Step one: Get a block of floral foam. Make sure it is big enough to hold whatever makeup you would like to put in it, whether that be mascara, glosses, or brushes. It can also be any color you want, and you can pick these up at any local store like Walmart, Target, etc.

Step two: Decorate your floral foam however you want :) You can purchase loose studs or spikes on eBay or at any craft store, fake flowers, lace, rhinestones, etc. Simply glue whatever design you would like on to the foam. Just make sure you leave enough room for your makeup storage on the top.

Step three: Mark on the top where you want each makeup piece to go. For instance, if you have all lipsticks you want to store, map out where each one would be placed on the top of the foam. Next, take something with a strong body like a test tube, a wooden peg, or something similar, and push it down into the foam (only about half way through) on the marked spots you made to create a hole that the makeup will sit in. You want to make sure each hole you make is big enough to fit your lipstick or whatever makeup you want to store.

Step four: To make each hole pretty on top, take any color grommets, gold or silver, (these can also be purchased as any hardware store) and glue them over each hole you created.

Step five: This is the fun part! Put all your makeup pieces into the finished holes and voila! A beautiful DIY makeup storage :)

Beauty tricks...

What a beautiful morning it is today :) Days like this are unique, based upon where the sun is, how many birds are chirping, and if you are running late to work or school! It light of this unique morning, here are four unique beauty tricks to make the morning easier:

1. Heat your eyelash curler: If you have stick-straight eyelashes one of the best ways to curl them is to heat your eyelash curler with a hair dryer for 5-8 seconds. Heating it will act like a curling iron and that paired with waterproof mascara (which dries faster) will give you perfect eyelashes.

2. Freeze your eyeliner: If you have issues with your eyeliner smudging once you put it on, this is a easy trick. Fifteen minutes before you begin to put on your makeup, stick your eyeliner in the freezer, and when you are ready to apply, it will go on easier than ever.

3. Take an ice cube to your face: It’s OK to admit that this doesn't sound fun, but if it will keep fat cells, acne and wrinkles under control, it is well worth it. Before you go to bed, grab an ice cube and massage it over your face.

4. Beer and vinegar rinse for your hair: Both are very beneficial for your hair! A good rinse with beer will help replenish the moisture in your hair while vinegar works wonders for shine. With both, simply coat your hair in them and let it sit for a few minutes. When ready rinse your hair with cold water, which will also help get rid of the smell.

If you know anymore, leave a comment and let me know :)

Hair care...

Happy Monday beauty's :) When I watch commercials on TV about hair care products, they always have models on them who have the most GORGEOUS looking hair! I'm left sitting in my chair, envious of their thick, shiny, bouncy locks. So, how can I get my hair like that? BETTER NUTRITION! Here are the ten best foods for your hair:
1. EGGS- Eggs carry Vitamin B which helps encourage hair growth and also renews hair follicles to create thicker, fuller locks. A lack of this in your diet can cause hair to be dry and brittle, making hair easily breakable. Eggs also help to stimulate and contribute to your scalp's overall health, which can help hair grow faster and longer :)
2. DARK GREEN VEGGIES -These dark green veggies are full with vitamin A and C, which help to create a natural scalp oil that works as a hair conditioner to pump vital and necessary oils into our hair to stimulate growth and renewal.
3. STRAWBERRIES - Vitamin C rich fruits like strawberries help your body absorb iron, which is fundamental for healthy hair and maximum growth. Too little of this vitamin will make hair dry and weak.

4. NUTS - Like eggs, nuts are full of biotin, which contributes to healthy, beautiful hair. Peanuts, almonds and macadamias are all great dietary options for restoring hair’s natural oils and shine.

5. OYSTERS - Oysters are rich in zinc, which helps to stimulate and aid hair in follicle renewal.

6. SALMON - When it comes to a food that packs a beauty punch, nothing has been quite as effective as salmon. This high-quality protein source is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which help to support scalp health and lustrous shine.
7. BEANS - Beans are an excellent source of iron protein, which packs powerful nutrients to nourish your hair with. Specifically, lentils are high in iron and folate to create strong, luscious locks and banish hair loss.
8. SWEET POTATO - Sweet potato contains beta-carotene, which your body produces into vitamin A that aids in the fight against dandruff.
9. KALE - This super food, much like the sweet potato is packed with beta-carotene and is key to maintaining a healthy and well-hydrated scalp to avoid brittle hair and dandruff.

10. RED MEAT - Adding more iron into your diet in the form of lean red meat can help to re-grow hair making hair super long and strong. If you’re suffering from hair loss or thinning hair check your diet, as iron-deficiency is a common problem when it comes to hair growth.

If you know of any other food that is good for your hair, leave them in the comments :)

Blessed Sunday...

Since part of my new year's resolution was to become closer to God, every Sunday I will post a bible verse. This may seem silly, but really read the verse and interpret it your own way. Think about how it affects your life and what it means to you. Enjoy :)

John 14:27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
