Happy hump-day everyone :) Hope you are getting through the week smoothly and without trouble! Speaking of trouble, I had a hard time this morning finding one of my favorite makeup brushes. I guess I took it somewhere around the house with me and didn't put it back where it belongs! Do you even have proper storage for your makeup or is everything piled together in a drawer? Well here is a cute and thrifty way to create some storage:
Step one: Get a block of floral foam. Make sure it is big enough to hold whatever makeup you would like to put in it, whether that be mascara, glosses, or brushes. It can also be any color you want, and you can pick these up at any local store like Walmart, Target, etc.
Step two: Decorate your floral foam however you want :) You can purchase loose studs or spikes on eBay or at any craft store, fake flowers, lace, rhinestones, etc. Simply glue whatever design you would like on to the foam. Just make sure you leave enough room for your makeup storage on the top.
Step three: Mark on the top where you want each makeup piece to go. For instance, if you have all lipsticks you want to store, map out where each one would be placed on the top of the foam. Next, take something with a strong body like a test tube, a wooden peg, or something similar, and push it down into the foam (only about half way through) on the marked spots you made to create a hole that the makeup will sit in. You want to make sure each hole you make is big enough to fit your lipstick or whatever makeup you want to store.
Step four: To make each hole pretty on top, take any color grommets, gold or silver, (these can also be purchased as any hardware store) and glue them over each hole you created.
Step five: This is the fun part! Put all your makeup pieces into the finished holes and voila! A beautiful DIY makeup storage :)
